FROM A JUNE 27 CONVERSATION WITH DONNA W . . .

Joyce attended Hesston and graduated from Goshen, going on to do a stint in Washington, DC for MCC.  She has two master’s degrees, one in education and one in divinity.  She has two sons in their 20’s, Nathan and Michael, and a kitty cat.  Joyce lives in Maryland and teaches third grade at Montgomery County Schools in Maryland.  She attends the National Presbyterian church, where she is a deacon and rubs shoulders with the powerful, including Condoleeza Rice.  The Maryland/DC area has been her home for the majority of her post IMS high school years; she loves the academic field and has no intention of retiring any time soon.  Joyce sends her regrets that she will not be able to attend the reunion.  Her father, Lester, passed away this spring and she had already made plans to fly back to Iowa on July 11 to spend time with her family and in honor of Lester's enjoyment of antique tractors and trucks.  She will be attending some of those shows with her mother, to reconnect with the friends her parents had enjoyed meeting over the years.

Joyce, the class of 1967 wishes you the very best as you carry on family traditions in the next weeks with your family.  Those events will make memories that will sustain you, your mother, and siblings though the loss of your father and you will feel so blessed knowing that you were able to be a part of it!  If you decide to drive one of those antique vehicles, please consider e-mailing all of us a picture!
