40 years in a capsule…I
entered nursing school in the fall after high school graduation. It was during
college I met my husband of 37 years, Dave Althaus. Our son, Dan, lives in the
Kansas City
area.
Life and careers have led us to
live in eight states (IL, KY, HI, IN, MO, GA, NC, and IA) and meet many wonderful people. Monsanto brought us back to the
St. Louis area for a second time but who knows?
I continue working in the health
care industry with my clinical roots in emergency/trauma nursing. Recently I decided to go part time – less consumption
of hospital coffee and more time on the deck with a beverage of choice! Dave retired from Monsanto on a Friday in 2004
and turned around and started consulting on the following Monday. So, we both
are in the work-a-day world but with a little more flexibility of our time.
What do I enjoy? I enjoy good family, good friends and good health! As well as good weather, good music, good food and good
wine along with almost any outdoor activity and if lucky, I’ll wake up tomorrow morning and get the chance to enjoy
it all over again.
