Following IMS
and two years at Hesston, I have spent the remainder of these past 40 years, moving back and forth between Colorado and
Iowa City. I spent about 29 years
in Colorado and 9 years in Iowa City. On one of those periods in Iowa I met
my wife of 32 years, Chris. After that we moved to the Denver/Boulder area where
I received my bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Colorado. Recently, we have returned to Iowa City
to be closer to aging parents. Although some say that I am semi-retired, I am
convinced that I put in a whole year’s worth of work during the period from November 1 to about April 30. We
have one daughter, Vanessa, who will be getting married three weeks after the class reunion in her native Boulder. We also have Max, a miniature Schnauzer, who really does control all of our ‘comings
and goings.' With the help of frequent flier miles, we
enjoy traveling both in this country and internationally. I love to play golf
but I must confess that my efforts on the links are rather pitiful next to Ed Hershberger and Roger Burkholder. Since I have never had the opportunity to attend any of the previous
class reunions, I am really looking forward to seeing my old classmates, many of whom I have not seen in these past 40 years.
