During
a VS teaching assignment in Aibonito, Puerto Rico, I met my husband
Rafael Falcón. In 1979, we moved to Goshen, Indiana. Rafael teaches Spanish at Goshen College (along with IMS alum Dean Rhodes), while I
have worked part time in various positions: the GC Learning Resources Center, the Goshen Adult Literacy Program, and an evening
English as a New Language class for adults. In 1983–84, and again in 1998–99,
we directed the GC Study Service Term in Costa Rica, enjoying during the second time the participation of several students whose parents were with me
at IMS. We continue to work together on Rafael’s publishing projects. We have two sons, Bryan and Brent, both who live in the area, and a grandbaby, Willow.
