I have started my
17th year at ACT in Iowa
City.
2006 was an exciting
year with two new babies in the family. My daughter, Shawna, and her husband, Tim, have a new son, Reece Jackson, born December 4, 2006. Tyler, 3-1/2, loves
his baby brother. My Ukrainian daughter, Marina, and her husband, Les, have a
girl, Isabelle Elizabeth, born November 28, 2006. It was an exciting few weeks waiting for the babies to arrive, late night calls and then going to the hospital.
They were born six days apart. Mothers and babies are doing well and both babies are growing so fast. Tyler
loves his baby brother. I love being a grandmother. Grandchildren are a blessing
and one of life’s greatest rewards.
How Marina
Became a Part of our Family: In April
2001 Marina came to the United States from the Ukraine.
Her second day in the US she met my father in Kalona and he invited her for Easter dinner. She
has been a part of our family ever since. Marina met and fell in love with
a young man who lives seven miles from my house, so it's like having two daughters. Marina's mother came in 2003 and
both of her parents came for a visit in Jan 07. Her parents never thought they would be so far away from Marina, so
they are glad that Marina has an American family here. We feel that God brought us together.
