After graduation I started working at Farmers Savings Bank in Kalona.
As prophesied at class night, I married the milk truck driver. Duane and I were married March 30, 1968 and in September
of 1968 we moved to Colorado Springs, Co. where Duane served 2 years in 1-W service at Memorial Hospital.
In February 1970, our daughter Diane was born. We moved back
to Iowa in September 1970, where I worked at the Kalonial Townhouse restaurant and Duane worked for Gale Walker
Trucking. In March 1972, Rob was born and in September I started working at English River Pellets, where
I worked for 21-1/2 years. In 1991 I purchased a commercial embroidery machine and worked from home until March 1994 when
I opened an embroidery shop and retail store where I currently spend most of my time. I'm not sure if any of you remember,
but I am in the building where City Hall was way back then, and there was a jail cell in the back room (it's not there anymore)!
After selling his trucking business, Duane returned to working for Twin County Dairy, hauling 90 barrels of curds or
pulling a tanker loaded with whey.
Diane married her college sweetheart, Jay Chapman, and has 3 boys: Collin
13, Noah 11, and Ben 8. They live in Holly Springs, NC.
Rob completed the aviation program at Hesston College and we thought
we were going to get to fly everywhere we wanted to go, but he changed his mind about being a pilot, and is a sales rep for
Cessna Aircraft in Wichita. Rob and Tamara eloped to Florida, getting married on the beach at Cocoa Beach. They
live in Wichita but also have a lake home in Shell Knob, Mo. Their 2 dogs are their kids for now.
Looking forward to seeing a lot of you in July.
